The following is a sample meal plan for one week with each day's food consumption totaling 1500 calories.

Day 1
Breakfast 3/4 cup cheerios
1 cup blueberries
1/2 cup skim milk
1 whole-wheat english muffin
1 T light margarine
6 fl oz brewed coffee
Lunch 1 cup lettuce, chopped
1/4 cup raw, shredded carrots
1/2 cup zucchini, shredded
1/2 cup tomato
2 T oil and vinegar dressing
6 slices melba toast
12 fl oz diet soda
1 small apple
Dinner 1/2 cup boiled lima beans
1/2 cup boiled broccoli
2 T light margarine
6 fl oz chamomile tea
1 cup romaine lettuce
2 T fat-free ranch dressing
1 cup cubed melon
4 ounces broiled salmon
6 fl oz water
Snack 3 cup plain popcorn
