The following is a sample meal plan for one week with each day's food consumption totaling 2000 calories.

Day 1
Breakfast 1 cup cereal, Wheaties
1 cup milk, skim
1 muffin, oat bran
1 T non-hydrogenated margarine
e.g. tub margarine
1 cup grapefruit juice
Lunch 1 Ham and Cheese sandwich with:
2 oz ham, lean
1 oz Cheese, low-calorie
2 slices bread, whole grain
2 T salad dressing low-calorie
1/2 cup carrot stick
1/4 medium avocado
1 medium pear
Dinner 4 o. beef, flank steak
1/2 cup Seasoned Beans
1 small potato, baked
3 T non-hydrogenated margarine
e.g. tub margarine
1/2 cup peas, green
1/2 cup carrots
1/2 cup applesauce, unsweetened
Snack 1/2 cup cereal, Raisin Squares
1 cup milk, skim
2 squares graham cracker
1 orange
