Below are the most frequently asked questions relating to Jim White Fitness programs, weight loss, services, nutrition, nutrition boot camp, fees, policies and gym membership:

Different Fitness Programs

Q. When I start your training program will you be able to test my body fat?
A. Yes. We will perform a Fitness Test on any new clients who purchase one of our training packages free of charge. This will not only help determine your current fitness level, but it will provide us with the information needed to develop a customized program that will maximize your results.

Q. I noticed that you offer a half-hour Jim White Fit Express package. Since I have a busy lifestyle, this fits into my schedule perfectly. Will I still see benefits by working out for just 30 minutes?
A. Yes. But be ready to exercise! We will maximize the time by manipulating the intensity of the workout. Our half-hour workout will allow you to get in and out of the gym while still allowing time to complete your daily tasks.

Q. How many days per week do you recommend I work out with you to see any results?
A. We recommend starting out with at least two times per week. Results also depend on exercise you will perform on your own time. We have clients that train with us 5 times per week. We also have clients that train with us once a week while they workout on their own the rest of the week.

Q. There are many trainers to choose from...what makes you stand out from the rest?

Weight Loss

Q. I want to lose weight and tone up for important event in two months. How much weight can you help me lose in this amount of time?
A. We would recommend that you select the Get Jim White Fit Accelerated program since we only have two months to work with. This program is designed to provide the results you want in half the time. The focus will be more on your body measurements rather than your weight loss. However, you will lose weight! In fact, if you follow the program to a tee..we guarantee you'll see at least an eight-pound weight loss by the end of the program! Call today for more details.

Group Training

Q. I own my own company and I am interested in having you train my staff. What service will you provide them?
A. We have many different Corporate Fitness packages that can be provided to a group or company. Please fill out our contact form and a JWFNS trainer will contact you to set up a free consultation.

Q. If I am training in a group and I have to miss a session, can I make it up on my own?
A. No. If you are in group training and have to miss a session for whatever reason, the session will be forfeited. The only exception is if the whole group can make up the session on a later day.

Home Training

Q. Can I really see results by training with you in my home as opposed to a gym?
A. Most definitely. Your success is our priority. We will use our expertise to design a program that is enjoyable, challenging, and successful. Refer to our success stories to see what others have to say about our JWFNS Home Training Service program.

Q. How far will you travel to train one of your customers?
A. We will travel anywhere to train or set up your fitness program (in-state or out). Training fees will include travel time.

Q. Can I still train at my home if I have no exercise equipment?
A. Yes. Our motto is "Why go to the gym when 'THE JIM' can come to you?" Our equipment list includes travel benches, dumbbells, resistance bands, stability balls, medicine balls, exercise mats, body bars, kick boxing tools, jump ropes, ankle weights, exercise leg bands, mini steppers...all the essentials for a great workout. Q. Can you help me turn a portion of my basement into a fitness room?
A. We have designed many home gyms and guarantee you will be satisfied with our work. We will not only recommend what type of equipment to buy, but will design, purchase and set up the home gym. In addition, we will demonstrate how to use the equipment properly so you can maximize its use. Our service will help you save time, money and space.

Nutrition Boot Camp

Q. How much weight can I expect to lose?
A. If you follow our program to a 'tee' and stay consistent you will lose weight. A healthy and realistic weight loss for our program is anywhere from 4-12 pounds in one month, depending on many different factors (age, gender, body type, etc)

Q. How much exercise will I need to be doing?
A. We will make individual recommendations during our nutrition boot camp. Exercise will be a must in order to maximize your overall results.

Q. What are the goals of the nutrition boot camp program?
A. Each client will have unique goals in which the nutrition staff will assist. The goals the staff will set include: weight loss, muscle toning, improved eating habits, better sleep, increased energy and improved sports performance.

Q. How do I get involved in the program?
A. Sign up on our main nutrition boot camp page...it's that simple!!

Q. Can anyone join?
A. Yes. Woman, men, teens, children, families, athletes, etc. Anyone interested in enhancing their nutrition knowledge and improving their eating habits.

Q. Will this work for me?
A. YES! If you follow the program and stay consistent..you WILL see improvements in your eating habits and lose weight.

Q. What are your qualifications?
A. Our staff includes Registered Dietitians and Dietetic Technicians Registered. We are leaders in food and nutrition in Hampton Roads.

Q. What should I expect on my first visit?
A. On your first day bring a pen, notebook, and a 3 day food journal (if applicable). We will take care of the rest!

Q. What if I sign up and miss a class?
A. If you miss a class or cancel for whatever reason, there will be NO makeups for any reason. Your session will be forfeited there will be no refunds.

Fitness Boot Camp

Q. When will the fitness sessions will be held?
A. Fitness sessions are held on Mondays and Wednesdays, 5:30 a.m. or 6:00 p.m.

Q. When will the nutrition course be held?
A. The 90 minute nutrition courses for each 8-week Boot Camp session will be held on the last Thursday of every month: May 30, June 27, July 25, August 29 and September 26.

Q. Where will the fitness classes be held?
A. If you are participating in the 5:30 a.m. classes, you will be at the oceanfront on 17th Street.  If you are participating in the 6:00 p.m. classes, you will be at Mount Trashmore.
*Participant must choose either AM or PM classes.

Q. Where do I park at the oceanfront?
A. Park in the Virginia Beach Methodist Church lot on the corner of 19th Street and Pacific Avenue.

Q. Where will the nutrition course take place?
A. The nutrition course will be held at the Hilltop studio (1577 Laskin Road, Suite 105, Virginia Beach. Virginia 23451) in the cardio room.

Q. Where do I park for the nutrition course?
A. Please park at the rear of the building and enter through the back door.

Q. What if I do not feel advanced enough to be active in the Boot Camp?
A. The JWFNS Fitness Boot Camp is geared for all fitness levels from beginners to advanced. We will have trainers there to work with all fitness levels as well as a recovery area for rest time. We will provide Gatorade and water to anyone in need! You can work as hard or as easy as you want...it’s your Boot Camp. But we will push you to your limits!

Q. How do I pay for Boot Camp?
A. Payments must be made in full prior to camp through our online registration process. There will be no refunds for missed sessions or absent days.

Q. How many people will be in my session
A. The maximum number of participants for each Fitness Boot Camp session will be 15. So, there will be no more than 15 in the morning sessions and no more than 15 in the evening classes.

Q. How many sessions do I get for the month?
A. Each Fitness Boot Camp consists of eight (8) sessions.

Q. Do I get any discount if I purchase multiple months in advance?
A. Yes! If you decide to buy 3 months in advance, you will receive 10% off. If you decide to buy all 5 months, you will receive 20% off. If interested in purchasing multiple sessions, call our Hilltop location 757-422-4728 and we will assist you.

Q. What do I need to bring to each session?
A. You will need to bring 5-10 pound dumbbells, a yoga mat, and water.

Q. What can I achieve from camp?
A. You will see a reduction in body fat, increase in muscle tone and weight loss. You will experience more energy, better confidence, and improve your overall well being. You will have access to the best trainers at the beach to help you with your every fitness need! Plus our dietitians will provide you with sound nutrition advice.

Q. Why should I participate?
A. Why not? The only thing you have to lose is weight! Plus we will have a blast — think of it as a great new jumpstart to your fitness program and life!

Q. What if I am unable to attend a session?
A. You will forfeit your session -  there will be no refunds or makeup sessions for any reason.

Q. Do we have to participate in the weigh-in, measurements, and before/after photo?
A. No, but this will help you track your progress each month and see the results you are working so hard for! Plus, the winner of each month’s Fitness Boot Camp will receive their next month’s challenge absolutely free!

Q. What do I do if there is inclement weather?
A. If inclement weather should occur, the Fitness Boot Camp classes will be held at our Hilltop studio in the cardio room. Call 641-715-3900 (using a cell phone) Enter ext: 979858 followed by the “#” sign.

Health

Q. I am a 50-year-old male with hypertension and Type II diabetes. Do I have to acquire a physician's release before we begin training?
A. Since you have more than two positive risk factors, we would need you to provide us a physician's release letter. We've posted par-q forms, nutritional assessment forms and release forms for any new clients to fill out before training begins. This will help speed up the screening process.

Fees

Q. Why are your fees not listed on the web site?
A. Most of our programs are unique and do vary in price. For instance, our home training rate is based on a fixed rate plus travel time. Prices may vary depending on your location. Just like we tailor our fitness programs to fit your individual needs, our prices are no exception. We work with all budgets to accommodate anybody who wants to get fit.

Q. What if a friend, family member or neighbor wants to train with me. Do you offer discounts?
A. Yes! We encourage group training! Group training is a fun way to get in shape and can be very motivating for everyone. For every additional person who joins the group, the price is discounted (limit 4 to a group).

Q. What do you charge for your in-home personal training service?
A. Training fees vary from home to home. We take into consideration the distance it takes to travel from our location to your location. Call today for pricing.

Q. Do you offer any discounts for your services?

Policies

Q. What is your cancellation policy?
A. We must receive a 24-hour notice for any cancelled session or the session will be forfeited. If you have an emergency situation, then sessions may be moved to a more convenient time. All sessions must be made up within one month's time.

Q. Do I need to make a long-term commitment when I begin training?
A. We know life can be very unpredictable. If you decide to use our services, you will not have to sign any long-term training agreements. However, we do sell monthly fitness packages and the longer the commitment, the more economical they are.

Q. If I participate in your monthly training packages, when do I have to pay my bill?
A. We allow 10 days from the 1st of the month to pay your monthly bill. You will be invoiced on the 1st of every month. If payment is not made by the 10th you will incur a $25 surcharge.

Q. If I am training in a group and I have to miss a session, can I make it up on my own?
A. No. If you are in group training and have to miss a session for whatever reason, the session will be forfeited. The only exception is if the whole group can make up the session on a later day.

Gym Membership

Q. I am interested in joining as a member to one of the JWFNS studios. How do I go about doing that?
A. To be a member of our studio and have 24/7 gym access, you must sign up for any fitness package. Once you purchase a fitness package you are then eligible to become a member. Memberships can be purchased on an anunal or month to month basis. To set up a free consultation please contact us.
